I. Background

The Project Implementation Group (PIG) is responsible for supporting the successful implementation of the Project, including ensuring compliance with the relevant policies and procedures of the World Bank in carrying out project activities.
The Individual Consultant on Project Manager, under the supervision of the PIG Director, coordinates the project implementation processes and ensures the timely and high-quality delivery of the project components.
This position is financed from the grant funds allocated for project preparation. The Individual Consultant will be engaged under a time-based contract for a period of 6 (six) months, including a 3 (three)-month probation period.

I. Background
The “Rural Infrastructure Development Project – Phase 2” (RIDP-2) is being implemented in 36 districts of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Fergana, Andijan, Namangan, Sirdarya, Jizzakh and Tashkent regions) with the aim of improving the quality of basic infrastructure in selected villages and strengthening local self-governance processes. The Project is financed by the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The Project Implementation Group (PIG) is responsible for supporting the successful implementation of the Project, including ensuring compliance with the relevant policies and procedures of the World Bank in carrying out project activities.
The Infrastructure Assistant Consultant ensures technical supervision of the infrastructure sub-projects implemented under the Project in Jizzakh region, under the guidance of the PIG Infrastructure Consultant.
This position is financed from the grant funds allocated for project preparation. The Individual Consultant will be engaged under a time-based contract for a period of 6 (six) months, including a 3 (three)-month probation period.

The Individual Consultant for this assignment shall report to the PIG Director through the PIG Infrastructure Consultant. The duty station is Jizzakh region (PIG regional division).
The initial duration of the contract is 6 (six) months, including a 3 (three)-month probation period. The type of contract is time-based. The contract may be extended subject to satisfactory performance and/or availability of funds.
