The Joint Projects Implementation Group under the Ministry of Economy and Finance announces the start of the selection process for an individual consultant for environmental and social screening of construction projects.
The Consultant will support the Government of Uzbekistan by (i) analyzing existing government programs and policies in Uzbekistan related to rural infrastructure development, (ii) analyzing existing investment approaches to rural capital investments that could be supported and/or expanded by the future RIDP-2 (Rural Infrastructure Development Project) Program, (iii) the roles and responsibilities of mahallas and mahalla support functions (both in law and in practice), and (iv) identifying best practices from other (similar) countries that can assist in the implementation of the project in Uzbekistan. The analysis conducted by the Consultant is intended to provide key data for the World Bank Technical Assessment of the RIDP-2 Program. The Consultant will closely collaborate and support the international consultant, who will be responsible for preparing the analytical report, providing data for the Technical Assessment.
Expected services include:
- Providing support to the international consultant by collecting and analyzing relevant materials (both primary and secondary), legislation, and data from relevant sectoral ministries. The Group will organize visits to these ministries.
- Conducting interviews with key personnel in consultation with the international consultant. The consultant is also responsible for developing interview tools and questionnaires and compiling the results.
- Conducting analysis and participating in the preparation of a report providing data for the Technical Assessment, as agreed between the Consultant, the international consultant and the PMU.
- Conducting analysis and participating in the preparation of various PowerPoint presentations prepared jointly with the Consultant.
- Any other tasks agreed between the Consultant, the PMU (and the international consultant), and the World Bank project team.
