Progress of infrastructure rehabilitation and construction works in Qushtepa district under the Rural Infrastructure Development Project

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PR-4898 dated 25 November 2020, several construction and rehabilitation works have been implemented in Qushtepa district within the framework of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, carried out in cooperation with the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

During the visit of the World Bank mission and the Joint Projects Implementation Unit staff to Fergana region, the completed facilities were inspected, and meetings were held with local residents.

The works implemented in the district include the following:

  • Phase 1 — in 13 mahallas, with a total investment of 80 billion UZS:

•    34.28 km of internal roads were asphalted;
•    175.11 km of drinking water pipelines were laid;
•    98.14 km of SIP power lines were installed along with 33 transformers.

  • Phase 2 — in 13 mahallas, with a total investment of 93.5 billion UZS:

•    120 km of roads were asphalted;
•    14 km of drinking water pipelines were constructed;
•    4 sports halls were built;
•    78 transformers and 138 km of SIP power lines were installed to improve the electricity supply.

The project activities are planned to be fully completed in the first half of 2026.
