The third day of the Central Asia “Community-Driven Development” (CDD) conference was dedicated to key sessions and discussions focused on defining future strategies and strengthening collaboration throughout the region.
It was attended by the employees of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project. The day began with a recap of previous sessions and the presentation of the agenda by Senior Social Development Specialist Luiza Nora, followed by a session titled “Looking ahead: opportunities for the CA CDD portfolio to serve as a platform to accelerate local development.” During this session, the World Bank team presented the concept of launching the CA CDD Platform, sparking discussions among participants on potential gaps and prospects for accelerating community-driven development.
In subsequent breakout sessions, participants were divided into country-specific groups to discuss two main directions: adapting national projects to evolving community-driven development needs and exploring strategies for ongoing engagement through the CA CDD Platform. Senior Social Development Specialists Christopher Finch and Simon Sottsas led these interactive discussions.
The teams later reconvened to present their conclusions, discussing initiatives that could benefit the CA CDD community in the coming year. The session concluded with final remarks, emphasizing the conference's accomplishments and laying the groundwork for further collaboration within the CDD network.
A particular focus on this day was on cooperation and knowledge exchange, which further strengthened the network of CDD practitioners.
