The environmental aspects of the implementation of subprojects were discussed

One of the main principles of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project is to follow for the social and environmental sustainability of local communities.

According to the requirements of the World Bank's Environmental and Social Management Framework, the Project supports only those subprojects, the operation of which excludes involuntary resettlement, labor, or which will not lead to negative environmental impacts in the project area.

To prevent such negative consequences from the implementation of subprojects, Environmental Safeguards specialists are constantly monitoring the performance of work by contractors.

Thus, on January 30 of this year, a meeting of PIU specialists and representatives of design organizations was held at the regional office of the PIU in the Jizzakh region. At the meeting, measures were discussed to comply with all the requirements of the project to ensure environmental sustainability
