Yesterday, at the initiative of the World Bank, a joint introductory meeting between representatives of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Communities Development and Investment Agency (ARIS), the Rural Investment Project and the Communities Support Project from Kyrgyz Republic was held. At the meeting, the representative of the World Bank, Helen Liu, presented the "CDD Transformative Grassroots Leadership” training project. The representatives of the projects noted the importance and necessity of holding such trainings for rural communities, which corresponds to the principles of gender equality of the projects, and can provide opportunities for rural residents to realize their potential, as well as contribute to the personal growth of women in expressing their opinions at public meetings and expanding their opportunities in leadership positions. Also, the World Bank senior specialist for social development, Robert Wrobel offered the representatives of the projects of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to hold joint meetings to exchange their experience in operations with rural communities. This initiative was unanimously supported. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold a leadership training session in the Training for Trainers (TFT) format.
