Project Implementation Unit pays a visit to Namangan region

On April 10-11, the working group for the implementation of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the financial support of the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, visited some districts of the Namangan region. The project implementation group, headed by Z. Urakov, director the project implementation unit, got acquainted with water management projects and the processes of their implementation. The main purpose of this visit was to study existing international investment projects in the region and their benefits for the population, as well as to consider effective ways to organize community mobilization and work with appeals. In particular, the specialists of the Rural Infrastructure Development project visited the Uychi and Kasansay districts of the Namangan region and got acquainted with the project of the International Secretariat for Water on the provision of clean drinking water, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, became interested in technical capabilities, operation and maintenance, as well as long-term plans project, received answers to some questions about the upcoming project activities. During the visit, they directly got acquainted with the water supply in houses and other conditions for the population. The visit was really useful for the specialists of the project implementation team, served as a comprehensive experience for the implementation of water-related sub-projects, especially in Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions.
