Technical supervision over the quality of subproject design

Since the opening of the interregional office of RIDP for the Fergana Valley in Namangan, PIU technical supervision consultants and environmental protection specialists have been holding regular meetings. The aim is to plan together effective approaches and mechanisms for the implementation of the infrastructure part of the project, with the introduction of innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency, social and environmental guarantees and environmental protection requirements in the design and construction of future rural infrastructure sub-projects. Methodology for conducting a technical audit, a series of trainings are being developed to increase the potential of representatives of the construction sector and mahhalla development units. Thus, in February PIU specialists visited Andijan region in order to study the process of preparing the work to start the design of the proposed subproject in the Sokhil MDU of Pakhtaabad region. The organized meeting was attended by the deputy khokim for construction of the Pakhtaabad district, representatives of the district department of public education, an environmental protection specialist of the PIU, residents of the Sokhil mahhala. Participants discussed the calculations of the capacity of the future school based on the number of potential local students and nearby mahhallas. Moreover, the PIU engineering and technical staff are also developing guidelines for infrastructure design aimed at improving technical supervision over the quality of design and construction work.
