Public discussions on subprojects were held in Jizzakh region

On June 2 of this year, in the khokimiyat of the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region, within the framework of the “Rural Infrastructure Development Project”, a checklist of the environmental and social management plan for projects was discussed, namely, to improve the power supply system and provide street lighting, drinking water, repair of sidewalks in the makhallas “Bakhmal”, “Oykor”, “Sangzor”, “Madaniyat”, “Temirkadam”.

Also, on June 6 within the framework of the project in the Zaamin district of the Jizzakh region, issues of repair of internal roads and medical centers, improvement of the power supply system, repair of schools and construction of a new educational building were discussed in the mahallas “Gulshan”, “Beshkubi”, “Yuksalish”, “Pshagor”, “Gallakor”, “Charvador”, “Duoba”, “Turkman”, “Nurlikent” and “Yuksalish”.

The public discussion was attended by rural facilitators and environmental and social safeguards specialists, chairmen and citizens of the mahalla, chairman and members of the Temporary mahalla development unit, LLC “Jizzakh Water Supply”, as well as employees of the improvement department of the Bakhmal district, the electric grid company, the district ecology department, the unitary enterprise for the operation of highways and the construction department of the district khokimiyat.

Regional experts of the PIU on territorial environment and social protection O.Tangriev and F.Nazarova informed the employees about Grievance Redress Mechanism related to the project.

According to the presentation, the participants were informed about the important aspects of the implemented sub-projects, i.e. laying of networks (cables) in areas in need of repair, replacement of unsuitable supports with reinforced concrete, installation of new transformers instead of unused ones, laying of a water supply network, digging a new well, construction of a pedestrian walkway, the environmental impact was also emphasized, in order to prevent dust, watering areas with water, monitoring the noise level emitted during construction, carrying out measures to eliminate waste in the area of construction repairs and handing it over to an organization that has a special certifying license.
